On Thursday, May 21st it is a non-working day in Belgium. All stores, school, and offices were closed and it’s a perfect time to hold a bike race...for Jr. Boys 15-16?? The girls and I jumped in the boys race and gave them a run for their money! Moorslede was very fast from the gun, all of us stayed in the top 20 for the first 2 laps out of 15 laps, which were 4km long each. Anna Young had to pull out early due to back complications. Then Kendall Ryan got a flat after 2 laps. (NOTE: The is no wheel pit or follow cars in our races. When you flat, you’re done.) So it was just Kaitie and I racing with the boys. There was one boy off the front solo for basically the entire race. I went with a few moves with the boys but none stuck. On the final lap the boys were bumping like crazy! I thought I was going to lose my life! I stayed out of the shinanigans and sprinted in to 21st place, which I won 5 euro.
